2020 CSEP Summer Research Internship Applications Now Open
January 6, 2020
We would like to announce that the Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships (CSEP) has several paid summer scholarships available for STEM undergraduate students (see flyer below). Applications are now open!
For more information about each program, please check out the website. After consulting the program website, please contact Samantha Davis (sldavis@ucsb.edu) with any questions.
1) MARC USTAR Program for sophomores interested in biomedical research: http://marc-csep.cnsi.ucsb.edu
A 2-year research and graduate school preparation scholarship for second year students interested in biomedical research careers. This program is funded by the NIH to increase the numbers of individuals from underrepresented groups in the biomedical sciences by creating a diverse pool of well-trained scientists with the technical, operational, and professional skills to succeed in these careers.
2) EUREKA Scholarship for STEM freshmen: http://eureka-csep.cnsi.ucsb.edu
This paid 8-week summer research program is open to any UCSB freshmen in a STEM major who is interested in participating in undergraduate research (no prior research experience necessary). Interns undertake an immersive summer research experience as well as professional training in scientific communication during the program. Students who have participated in the Summer Institute in Mathematics and Science (SIMS) are especially encouraged to apply, though participation in this program is not a prerequisite for the internship.
3) Gorman Scholarship for STEM freshmen-juniors: http://gorman-csep.cnsi.ucsb.edu
The Gorman Scholars Program provides funding for a paid 8-week summer intensive research experience (similar to EUREKA) and a stipend to continue research during the academic year. The summer program focuses on independent research projects and professional training in scientific communication, while the academic year programming is focused on the individual interests and academic goals of the scholars.
