Apprentice Researchers High School Program is Accepting Applications

March 5, 2019
We are excited to announce that the Apprentice Researchers (AR) high school program is back for summer 2019!  This program has a long history (1991-2011) of training and inspiring local rising-senior level high school students here at UCSB as they learn about careers in the STEM fields.  The Institute for Energy Efficiency (IEE) Apprentice Researchers program is hosted at the University of California, Santa Barbara, by the Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships (CSEP) at the California Nanosystems Institute (CNSI).  In the Apprentice Researchers, high school students have the opportunity to do hands-on scientific investigations in a dynamic research environment, and to learn to give effective oral presentations on their findings.  The students chosen for the program work with graduate student researchers in UCSB science and engineering laboratories, gaining first-hand experience in how science research is conducted. They will also gain experience in preparing and presenting talks to disseminate their research findings. For more information on this 6-week intensive summer program, please visit the site.
